Gentlemen: I was going to email out another updated roster with some new contacts and updated info on several from the platoon, but I thought I'd post this instead: If anyone wants an updated roster, either email me or post a request here on Ben's forum and I'll shoot you one. I don't want to jam up everyone's email inbox, maybe with unwanted material, so we'll make this a "voluntary army" and make it an "opt in" situation... If anyone has any late breaking info that should be included, by all means, please email it to me and I'll insert it.

Gents: I have one correction that Dennis emailed me for Quentin's E'dress; thanks Dennis. Walt Gongaware had emailed me to make a slight correction to his too; thanks Walt. If anyone knows anything about E'dresses for Paul Kendal, Jeff Hess, Tom Cozzi, Mike Kallansrude, Ted Wronkiewicz, or corrections in any other member info, please pass it along for inclusion in the latest roster. Hopefully, as you guys are talking with others, you're encouraging them to stop by here to catch up on things that are posted, but most importantly, suggesting that they post a few thoughts, comments, maybe just a "Hey, how ya' doin', which would let us know they are alive & kickin'. ;D

Everyone,
In addition to our birth dates on the platoon roster, I also suggested the date each of us returned from vietnam (DEROS). Anyone else think this would be a worthwhile addition to the roster information?
Take care,
Tom

Gents: Tom's idea is a good one; we can just add both DOB and DEROS dates on the platoon roster - it won't take up much space either. As a few guys have already sent theirs to me, it's interesting that there is some variance in DEROS dates, which should form the basis for some discussion over a hot toddy in Milwaukee. There have been a few updates in the last couple weeks, so if anyone wants one, just let me know by email. The separate platoon assignment sheet is taking form with just a few having replied. I think you guys will find some of the information it will reveal interesting too. So, if you haven't sent me your DOB, DEROS and info as to platoon assignment and reassignment, if any, all your buddy's would appreciate your doing so. ;D

Hey how about draft date also?
I have Ken Reinert's. Ken Drafted: 14 Dec 1965 DEROS : 21 Sep 1967 Del Drafted: 16 Dec 1965 DEROS: 21 Sep 1967 Note my real draft date was on Dec. 5th, and my report date was December. 6th 1965. But they gave Me 10 days off for Xmas's and changed our report date to the 16th of Dec. I went home from Fort Ord on Dec. 23rd and was back to Report back to Fort Ord on January 3rd 1966. How about them Apples! Del

Hopefully, all those with email addresses on record have seen the "revised" roster, with the added details that several had suggested be included and you will be emailing your corrections, additions or ... in the very near term. I hope to replace the earlier "two column" roster with the new format, as it will contain all the contact info plus some service details and is in Word, thus a little more user friendly for all. If we make a concerted effort from as many as possible to provide feedback, including from those without email capability (whom we need to supply a copy to) I know it will prove helpful and interesting to review. It's even a possibility that Ben can post a final version online, but it needs to be behind a password protected system for privacy sake, however some bugs need to be worked out in order for that to happen. Looking forward to receiving more updates than those that have already showed up and have been added. Onward to Milwaukee! PS: If your personal info is shown correctly, please shoot me an email to that effect, that way we'll know for sure. ;D

Gents: John Seedorff emailed me some of his info for insertion in the "New and Improved Roster" and he also indicated he IS going to the reunion! Hoorah! He asked me to update his street address, as he and his family are moving sometime real soon to a new home there in Missouri, so I'd advise against sending, calling or emailing him anything until you receive an updated roster, which will include ALL his new info, except for his phone #, which he didn't provide as yet. Let me know if you want me to email his contact info. ;D

Gents: I'll reach back to a thread that started early LAST year, mostly just to keep all the info together that way: I've received a few new email addresses that I've inserted in the platoon roster which I'm trying to maintain. About the only way I know to disburse them to you is to email it so you guys can update YOUR AddressBooks, email clients, etc., otherwise you're likely to receive error messages from their ISPs indicating an invalid or undeliverable email. I'd just E'blast everyone with the update, but some of you may not want a copy, so I won't do that. Just let me know if you want one and I'll shoot it to you (this will actually help me to make sure I have your current E'dress too). As a reminder, related to changing email addresses, be sure to change yours on THIS board so it's kept current too. It's a little tricky to do, so if you have ANY problems, don't hesitate to raise your hand and ask (nicely, of course). To further Benson's efforts to contact * invite all 2/12ther's, please supply their snailmail AND email addresses - assuming they are interested in receiving news from 4 Deucers. Let me know of any changes for you OR for anyone else that you become aware of too. Thanks.

Gentlemen: Even though this thread was started ~2 years ago, the beauty of the bulletin board is that like messages/topics can be strung together, so here goes... I'm still trying to maintain as current a roster as I can and several did review it in Sacramento & provided more details, so we should have good accurate info inserted now. I was reminded at the reunion that there is an online roster, but unfortunately, it isn't up to date and I'm proposing to Benson that maybe it otta be deleted - solely for security purposes, at least until some kind of failsafe password protected scheme is devised. There are just too dog gone many crackpots and hacker types out there that just might gain access and then raise cane, something I don't think any of us want to see happen. Maybe you've seen someone's idea of "fun" here on the board in the past - we've deleted their contributions as soon as they are spotted. If you'd like a new roster, I'll email/snailmail it to you - your choice. Just let me know.

Bill & Gentlemen,
Despite a few glitches at the reinion Margie and I had a Great time, due to the fact that being with you guys and gals made it that way. Last Thursday night I had supper with 3 of my old friends from C/2/12. Bruce Peterson, thingy Stinger, and Steve Strait. I had'nt Seen Steve since Nam, and just like when I saw you guys, when we started to talk it was like we were picking up from yesterday. These three guys have some real history together which I won't talk about here. C company is tentatively planning a reunion in the Black Hills Of S. Dakota next summer. It might be a good chance to get something started with the 2/12th. Bruce said he would let me know more. Bill, Would you please email me a copy of the platoon roster at your leisure.

Paul: It's on its way to your new Yahoo E'dress. If you have any difficulty receiving, saving and/or printing it out, just let me know and together, we'll figure out what the problem might be. It's in MS Word format, and I highly recommend you "save" it to your hard drive in some folder you have established and then you can print off a copy only if you prefer a hard copy to work with. For all vets with rosters, I purposely put the "revision date" in the upper left hand corner (updated as new info is inserted) so we can keep up with any changes: street address, phone #s, etc. This is probably as good a place as any to request that all vets let me know when changes in YOUR individual roster data needs to be made, so we keep up with and can disburse them to the whole body of troops.
